January Haul

Saturday, February 2, 2013

Good afternoon lovelies :)

I was going through the post suggestions from comments at the giveaway post and I found few which said that I should do more hauls. I decided to have a look around and gather all the products that I bought/received in January and put them in a post. Unfortunately for me, I actually bought more than I thought...Anyway, here they are:

Going a little bit more in depth...

I will divide the post in three sections: Nail Stuff, Makeup and Competition Prize.

Starting with nail stuff...

  • Miss Sporty Nail Expert manicure Silk Base and Top Coat;
  • Miss Sporty Nail Expert Manicure Strength Action;
  • Essence color&go in 114 fame fatal, 131 ballerina's charm and 67 make it golden;
  • Essence Nude Glam in 03 cotton candy;
  • Essence Twilight in 02 Alice Had a Vision Again;
  • Essence tip painter;
  • Essence French Glam nail stickers.
Except the nail stickers, I tried every nail polish and I love them. I especially like ballerina's charm - it is like a dusty purple which is perfect for everyday and it looks good on short and long nails. I usually don't buy anything from Miss Sporty but there is a Romanian YouTube guru who is raving about the nail treatments from Miss Sporty so I decided to give them a go and I am not disappointed.

Going to makeup....

  • L'Oreal Infallible Makeup in 15 Porcelain;
  • theBalm Sexy Mama translucent powder;
  • MAC Paint Pot in Painterly;
  • NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder in 03 Taupe/Ash;
  • Maybelline Master Drama Smoky in Smoky Chocolate;
  • Avon SuperSHOCK Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black;
  • Rimmel London Vinyl Gloss in 610 Be Dazzled;
  • Rimmel London Exaggerate eyeliner in 002 Absolute Brown.
So January was an exiting month considering that I purchased my first MAC product and actually the second one also, but I am waiting the shop to deliver it to me and God knows when that will be. Also it was a lucky month as I found the perfect eyebrow set (the one that doesn't have any hint of red in the color ) and the perfect eyeliner - the Rimmel one. The disappointing purchase? The L'Oreal Foundation...lets say that it's a little bit too pink but I have hope that eventually I will make it work.

And here it is my prize...

  • Stila Brush Set;
  • Stila Written in the Stars Eyeshadow palette;
  • Stila All Is Bright lip glaze set;
  • Stila Seeing Stars Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner Set.
I was lucky enough to win all this in a competition Beauty Bay had in December, part of their advent calendar. I don't win things to often so I was super excited. Not only this are my first Stila Products, but I totally love them. The eyeshadow palette is perfect for neutral day looks and the foundation brush included in the brush set is absolutely phenomenal. The lip glazes are sticky, but not overly sticky, just enough to last and the smudge sticks that I tried till now were great also. I have a very good first impression about Stila and I can't wait to try more from them.

Congratulations! You made it till the end of this post! Now tell me, what you bought in January?

xoxo
Cristina

  7. Hi Cristina! I love your haul. I'm sad that I don't have access to Rimmel cosmetics in my location. I'm not sure if it's even available in the Philippines. I've bought an eye pencil from them when I was in Singapore and I loved it. By the way, how do you like the Loreal Infallible foundation? Is it any good? I want to buy me a new foundation and I'm thinking of staying with Revlon. Let me know how it goes. Congratulations with your win! That's exciting!

    1. Thank you :) Unfortunately I didn't test the foundation enough because I don't really like the color, but if I manage to make it I will keep you updated :)
