Cook with me: Chocolate Chip Muffins & Apple Muffins

Sunday, March 31, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

First of all, Happy Easter to everyone who is celebrating Easter today :) Today I decided to do another “Cook with me” post, because …oh well…I discovered an easy great recipe earlier today. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter or Facebook, you already know what I’m talking about: MUFFINS! I was in the mood for something sweet… As I already said I am trying to eat more healthy (I am not saying this recipe is healthy) and when the urge comes I try at least to make something homemade. I found this recipe on Google and personalized it a little bit... Anyways, here it the end result and click “Continue Reading” to see the recipe.

H&M Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Review

Thursday, March 28, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

After so many looks, I though it is time to return to the basics and come to you with a review. As you could guess from the title, today's post will be about H&M Nudes Eyeshadow Palette. This palette was on my February wishlist because....I guess I wanted to try H&M make up. In pan the colors look very appealing and they are not exactly the kind of nudes you would expect. I don't know you, but when I am thinking at nudes I am thinking at brown shades....maybe it's just me...Anyways, probably you are wondering what is the color payoff and how much do they last on eyelid... so, keep reading.

Hello beautiful people :)

Hope you are doing well and weather is nice:) I know that here the weather is nicer than it's been in a while and spring finally seems to come. Today again I took a walk {Honestly, I can't believe I made it a habit} and I decided to share with what make up I wore. But first, here it's a proof that snow is melting!!!!

This is the parking lot for out building and the view from our bedroom. You can imagine that every morning when I wake up and I actually see a puddle and not a piece of ice I feel already better :) Enough rambling, here is my make up...

Honey and Honey&Cinnamon Mask for Acne Prone Skin

Monday, March 25, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

Today I decided to share with you two of my favorite DIY face masks. As I already said a billion times, I have acne - now I mostly have pimples and acne scarring which is a huge improvement for my skin. In the last two weeks I started to use honey on my face after doing a little research. There are 2 ways I am applying honey on my face :

  1. just honey - I just take honey from the tube/jar and I massage it into my skin. I let it sit for 15-30 minutes and then I wash it off with lukewarm water. Pretty easy, huh? I do this 5 days a week. Also a tip for you: don't apply too much because as it warms on your face, it will start to melt and cause a huge mess - I use around a table spoon.
  2. honey and cinnamon mask.

Simple Everyday Eye - Step by Step Pictorial {Using e.l.f.}

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

I promised yesterday a step by step for the eye look in my FOTD post and here it goes...I used 4 products and 3 tools so it should be pretty simple, no? At first I wanted to use only e.l.f. but soon I realized that I don't have an e.l.f. mascara so I just used only e.l.f. eyelid primer,  e.l.f. eyeshadow and an e.l.f. eyeliner. Enough talking....

FOTD We Need Dish Soap

Saturday, March 23, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

Hope you are doing great and you are having an awesome weekend. I am sorry for being quiet during the last days, but I've been focusing more on finding a job, as I really want one. Also, concerning my Zinio giveaway...unfortunately there were 9 prizes and only 6 participants so I e-mailed Zinio to ask what we'll do about it. I am really sorry that you didn't like the giveaway...

Anyways, today I'm coming with a FOTD post...As I mentioned before, I am trying to have a walk everyday, for at least 30 min, but most of the times it's 1 hour. I a good girl, huh? Anyways, today when I woke up the weather was great: sunny and relatively warm, so after breakfast I jumped into shower and started to get ready to go out and buy dish soap {it finished last night}. I decided to do a step by step eye make up (which will go up tomorrow) and while I was getting ready it started to snow....Now, that's a turn!!! My mood went down suddenly....I want spring!!!! So, I just kept it simple with my face...

FOTD: My Sunday Walk

Monday, March 18, 2013

Hello lovely people:)

As I already said in a previous post, I started to walk....1 hour per day at least :) Till now everything is great and I really hope I will keep doing this because ...oh well, it's nice :) Today's pictures are not exactly the best because my camera was dying and also the sun wasn't my friend, but I hope you will enjoy. Also, no outfit today, because I was dresses pretty boring, plus it was colder than the other day and I really couldn't survive taking my coat off to show you what's underneath. On the plus side, a have a much better picture of my eye make up and actually I pretty liked it. Let me know what you think about it :)

very appealing picture, no?

Miss Ramble #12 Career

Sunday, March 17, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

Today I thought I'll do a ramble post as I didn't do one of this in a while. As you may know I finished my 3rd year at uni a week ago, but I am still in Finland trying to find a job. Why I want to work in Finland? I was to be close to my boyfriend...we've been together over 2 years and we have a little disadvantage: we have different home countries so during the summer, we've been apart in the last 2 years (which is sad). Anyways, back into career...This summer I am also supposed to do my work placement and to be honest that is so hard to find...

Every year I apply for summer trainee positions at Nokia, because that was my dream when I came to Finland: I wanted to work at Nokia! Till now I didn't succeeded but I hope things will change this year....What you don't know about me is that except make up, I love technology - new phones, tablets, PCs etc. ... I know everything about them - when I am not looking for make up I most certainly research some new gadget... You would think that I am a little crazy with whole Nokia idea because nowadays Apple and Samsung are huge on the market, but to be honest I still think Nokia can came back up, they

Walk in tha Woods LOTD

Saturday, March 16, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

One of my resolutions for 2013 was to start to exercise and as year goes, I find it so hard to accomplish. That being said, I started to search alternatives that the easiest one was having walks. Now, I used to do this last year but for some reason I stopped... Anyways, I started again this week because most of the days were sunny and relatively warm ( around -3 Celsius degrees) and also there are a lot of nice places to walk where I live. For some reason, I decided to show you what I wore yesterday, as well as my make up. I won't say from were my clothes and accessories are, because they are mostly not from international brands, but I will show you what I used for my make up. Hope you'll enjoy :)

How I Take Care of my Acne {Steps to a Clear Skin - Part 1}

Wednesday, March 13, 2013

Hello lovely people :)

If you follow me on Instagram, earlier today I posted a picture how I was starting to write notes for this post on my notebook. I was incredibly successful and actually managed to put everything together today, so it's time to show you my  tips. In this post I won't talk about skin care items that I use, but anything else. I never believed that the change needs to come from inside, but it was proven otherwise. There won't be really any pictures in this post because.....just because I didn't know how pictures for this post should look like. Anyways, I hope you won't get bored reading this and lets jump straight to the subject.

As some of you may or may not know, I suffer with acne. Since I moved to Finland almost 3 years ago, my skin went crazy. The peak point was during last November when I started using a foundation that aggravated the whole situation.  Unfortunately I don't have a picture from that time, because it was quite hard to take pictures without make up - I was going to uni to run errands without make up, but if I knew it's picture time, I was preferring to have make up on.  My skin is not 100% clear now, but I am getting there, and comparing with how it was looking in... lets say December, it's a big improvement.

Nanshy Brushes, Make up Blending Sponges and Brush Holders Review

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Hello ladies :)

If you read the lasts post, you would know that I was sent by Nanshy some lovely brushes, make up blending sponges and brush holders. Many of you, may not be familiar with Nanshy as I wasn't before reading a review on Aqueela's Blog (which by the way, you should check it out- it's one of my favorite reads) and searching more on Google about the company. Basically they are an UK based company who sell makeup brushes {*cough* Sigma alike makeup brushes at cheaper price*cough*}. At the moment they have only 4 brushes that you can buy in set or individually, a make up blending sponge available in 2 colors and a brush holder. You can buy Nanshy products from BeautyStore4u and Amazon. My items were sent from BeautyStore4u and let me say I was amazed by the fast shipping and how well everything was packed. Big plus for BeautyStore4u from me! Anyways, now that I gave you the general information, I'll show you what I received as well as my opinion about these items.

Cook with me: Fruit Cake!

Monday, March 11, 2013

Happy Monday lovelies :)

Today it is actually the first day when I can feel that I finished my 3rd year at uni...Normally I would need to go to classes today, but guess what ? That won't happen for the next 5 to 6 months! Of course, now I want to find a place to do my work placement and so won, but it won't be the same as going to uni so I will probably enjoy it more....Anyways, enough rambling about uni, and lets get into subject ... I like baking, but I didn't do it in a while because I am trying to give up sweets, but when I crave something sweet, I want to go for something home made....I have this recipe from my mom, and it was actually the first sweet that I baked for my boyfriend when we moved together {oh good old memories}...

This is what you'll need:

Lets Talk about Magazines {+Zinio Giveaway}

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Hello lovelies :)

I hope you had a great weekend and your week started fabulous. Today I want to talk with you about magazines....As you all know (or maybe not), I am a student in Finland, but I am originally from Romania. I moved to Finland 2 years and half ago, but it’s not like a permanent move – I always go home on holidays. When I was living back home I was an avid reader of magazines – beauty, fashion it didn’t matter...I was really enjoying reading. When I moved here, I actually hoped that I will find some magazines in English, but to my huge disappointment, that didn’t happened. To partially solve the problem, every time when I’m going home I come back with some and also if my mom is sending me a parcel or something she is always adding some magazines. Also if I am in an airport or something I am looking always for magazines written in English. Anyways, here is where Zinio comes is in handy.

You don’t know what Zinio is?

February Haul!

After posting two posts from my monthly series, today is time for the third one: a monthly haul. I didn't buy two things from my February wishlist because one I couldn't find (Rimmel eyeliner in Nude) and the other one I was to scarred to buy it in case my skin will respond badly to it (in LancĂ´me foundation). I also sucked at taking pictures for this post because I was always forgetting something...

This month I actually didn't buy so much, but I received some products for review, but more about this later....

Monthly Favorites: February!

Saturday, March 9, 2013

Yesterday I showed you what was in my make up box, and now it's time for favorites! Oh well...this month I actually have some new favorites!! Yay for that! Without further due, lets jump into the subject!

In My Make Up Box: February

Friday, March 8, 2013

Hello ladies :)

I know I've been quiet around here during the last week, but it's been my last week of uni from my 3rd year and I was busy with exams and everything. Now everything is gone and I need to start job search and also I will get into posting more often hopefully. That being said, today I'll share with you what I had in my make up box in February. If you saw my Make up Storage post or if you are a reader of my blog for some time, you'll know that I have a box on my desk/vanity in which I place different items every month. Some months my make up box can look very similar just because I am really satisfied with the products there or because I am trying to figure out ways to use them so they haven't been a waste of money. Enough talking, and let's see what was in my makeup box in February.

Hide the Purple Step by Step Eye Look

Friday, March 1, 2013

Hello lovelies :)

If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don't, you should!), you probably saw that I asked about one week ago if I should post my first eye look tutorial. There weren't any comments to that picture, but there were few "likes" so I decided to take my chances and post this. Because it is my first post of this type, I am not sure how it will turn out, but please bare with me and also leave a comment with what you think about it and what should I do different.

For this look, I used Too Faced Little Black Book of Beauty Palette and I chose the name "Hide the Purple" because I intended to do a purple eye look, but I ended up hiding almost all purple. I also try to use as less tools as possible as I know not everyone has a lot of clean eye brushes waiting to be used. Here is a picture with the shades I and than goes the look.
